Prospects

Yesterday afternoon, we went down to City Hall and got our marriage license! It was accompanied by a notice addressed "To: Prospective Couple." So, I guess, according to the City and County of San Francisco, Brian and I have the prospect to one day be a couple.

The license also was accompanied by a pamphlet that instructed us to wash our vegetables before eating them, cook our meat throughly, and get annual check-ups. A "User's Guide" to healthy married life, I guess. No wonder married people live longer. How do the single people get by?

So we are now officially licensed to get married.

Big day!

Two big announcements today!

First, our friend and the officiant of our wedding, Mark Leno, won a hotly contested election yesterday by a landslide. He is currently a member of the California Assembly and he now will be going on to be our next State Senator. He will represent San Francisco, Marin County, and part of Sonoma County. Congratulations, Mark!

Second, the California Supreme Court today rejected a petition that asked the Court to delay enforcing its marriage decision. This means that the Supreme Court's decision holding that marriage must be made available to all people will go into effect on June 16th.
